Find a Career and Passion With A Life Coach
Susan asks…
“I am in a rut career wise and can’t quite figure out what I’m passionate about. Would a life coach help?”
Yes, finding a life coach with help you align your life in all areas. Once you discover who you are inside the idea is to make your outside world compliment it. A life purpose coach will help you discover what your values are, and will teach you how to live your life according to those values. This will bring you happiness and perhaps a new career too. – Jason

yes. (and the person who answered your question 1st has no clue what they’re talking about). A life coach does not guide you, simply helps you listen to yourself and answer your own questions (if it’s a good life coach anyways).
It can be your way out towards a much more inspiring and uplifting lifestyle.
And you’ll ultimatly know when it’s time to move on.

What could it hurt?
You get life coaching all the time…. From family, from friends, from co-workers. Everyone you know probably has an opinion on what you should do with your life. However, each of those ppl may have motivations and biases based upon their perception of you because of the role you play in their lives that affect what advice they give. (For example, a mother is not likely to greatly encourage you to do something dangerous like be a cop, even if that is something you’d love to do, now is she?)
A good life coach may be able to offer an objective opinion about your situation based more upon what YOU want out of life rather than what they want you to do.
Besides…. Just because you try a life coach, doesn’t mean you have to turn over control of your life to them.

Its probably something you have to figure out on your own. I’m 31 and I still don’t have a career goal! But I have been a mum since I was 21 and in all honesty being a stay at home mum and home educating my kids is my career and i wouldnt have it or want it any other way. Good luck in finding yourself, its what you enjoy doing the most that you should make a career out of.

i thought that was what career counseling was supposed to do.
we have used life coaching extensively. we always get good results. but, we do this because we already own a business and use it to inspire us to take our biz to whatever level we need to go to, we use this in conjuction with financial and business consulting, not alone.
so, use it and pair it up with career aptitude tests, career counseling, and other resources, i bet monster.com would have some.

A life coach would help seperate you from your money. Yes, thereapy or seeking advice from a life coach may be helpful, but in the end you have to get up and make your own decisions arther than waiting for someone to figure it out for you.

A life coach will help you if you are willing to do the work of honestly looking at where you are and where you want to go. A coach will facilitate and guide, but cannot tell you what is right for you. Best wishes in your journey!

One thing to know about coaches is that they are your biggest fan and avenue of support without telling you what to do. This is your life to live and make the decisions best for you. A coach can be very instrumental in showing different ways to accomplish things however it is up to you to make the decision which fits into your life the best.
